[wildkotetsu]

 [Kotetsu's had a really tough 8 weeks, but he's getting better. After all, he has a few nosy bros who don't leave him alone, especially at Seventh Heaven; he's passed the point of sleeping bad hours and he's at least getting some perspective on his life here--mainly, that as long as he can fight, he can find some ridiculous self-made repentance for 'that thing that happened' about two months ago. That thing we shan't bring up, unless we want a frown and a long moment to himself. He's been keeping up, at least. Even though he'd been frustrated that Bil had died--and at the fact that there was a death toll in general--he was relieved to be capable. He helped more than he'd ever helped before, he thinks, with Luceti as a whole.

It made things a little easier.

So he keeps himself active and busy with that in mind. He knows that if his powers fail him he needs to be prepared. He spends time each day at the battle dome to practice some simple hand-to-hand fighting, making sure he's not getting any duller, and working his muscles. Mostly replicating punching bags, simple things. He's not a flashy guy, and frankly, he's not a fan of holograms anyway. He's been trying to talk to the spirits, too. In fact, at one point he's gotten himself a few mean burns from the fire guy--y'know, he thinks... maybe the spirit doesn't like him. Or something. 

But by god, he keeps trying. And he might be slowly getting him to cooperate, though he's out to buy burn ointment regardless. B|

He also keeps up his work at Seventh Heaven, though... he's not quiiite sure how he ended up being an employee instead of a volunteer. Sometimes at night he creeps on over and does some busy work, when sleeping feels too difficult. Ah well. Might as well keep up some work, right?

One particular day, he happens upon an interesting book. Definitely not from his earth, but still. Cool.]

Oi, oi, did you see this world records book in the library? It's really cool! [Dated 2008, but whatever. He's super interested!] 

Let's see. The heaviest Blue-somethin' tuna fish caught was like... 1,500 pounds! I bet that fed a pretty big family! If you could keep it cold, I mean. I used to fish on the river, but I never caught anything bigger than my hand... 'World's stretchiest skin'... Maybe this guy's a NEXT. I know I met someone just like that at the Hero Academy.

[flippity page flip!! Wait, this one--] 

24 inch long fingernails?? How the heck do you even eat...? Some people sure are strange...

S'kinda weird how most of these would be easy for Luceti, though, huh? Like this guy here, he can break 90 concrete blocks in 10 seconds. That's not too hard here, I think. I'm sure I could do it... Oi, or--!! This guy here, he threw someone 17 feet. [a laugh] I definitely know a lot of people who can beat that record!

Are you sure about that? I mean, I know the voices are a lot alike... It's totally my voice, too, even if he says he gets dibs first.

Oh, is it your voice I'm thinking of? I always get those mixed up. [She blinks at that last part and frowns. Srs bsns when you dis her favourite chef, okay.] Are you accusing him of stealing?

Oi, oi! He accused me first! I'm just defending my voice here!

Why can't you just share like adults?

N-no, never! A hero can't be evil! That'd make him a villain, and I'm definitely not a villain...! We just happen to have something in common, is all.

That's right! I'm a Hero like that! I protect my city and make sure the citizens are safe—and arrest the criminals too, of course. That kinda' hero!

Really? Do you have a costume? A code name? What about sidekicks? Do you prowl around the city all night and look for bad guys? Are you on TV a lot?

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Not so many questions at once! [Um... let's see...] I got a costume and a name! But I don't have a sidekick like that. Sidekick's not a good name for 'em. I got a partner! We, uh... we're a duo.

[He couldn't help but somber a bit at that. Yeah... Bunny was his partner. He's back at home now, living his life, oblivious to how badly his last moments here in Luceti were...]

Hey Nami only steals from pirates man. What's my excuse.

[Katie misses the somberness, at least for now. She's too taken up with steamrolling over Kotetsu with all her questions.] A duo? Like Batman and-- [Wait, that's still a sidekick. UM. Casting around for someone.

Like ninja turtles? [Though she sounds doubtful because superheroes and ninjas are not the same thing.] Oh! What's your superhero name? Maybe I've heard of you. And-- [Oh fine, he asked not so many questions at once. WAITING PATIENTLY.]

[I mean. Sure, he was supposed to be retiring, and stuff. But. Hey, not retired yet.]

Wild Tiger... [Scuse her, trying out that name all impressed and stuff. Then she frowns.] And Barnaby? How come he doesn't have a superhero name?

Psht, I dunno. He doesn't even wear a mask or anything!!

[HOW DUMB IS THAT, KID?]

Really? He's not much of a superhero, then. [Sniff.] You should make him wear a mask. What if he wants a girlfriend one day?

Aa, well... He can probably get all the girls he wants, I guess. He's got a lot of fans... and even though he doesn't wear a mask, he's not a bad hero. [He smiles, awkwardly rubbing his chin at that.] He'll be one of the greats, I just know it. Maaa, he's come really far since we first met... I'm real proud of him.

Ohhh. Are you sure he's not a sidekick? ['cos you're talking about him like one.]

Positive! He's even higher than me in the ranks, too.

I'm more of a, uh. Veteran-type, I guess you could say...

Oh, right! So maybe he'll call himself Wild Tiger eventually when you retire! [Or...get shot. Or have your back broken, or go back in time...you know, the usual.]

Eeeeeh! No, no way! That'd be crazy for any hero to take another hero's name, y'know! It's like... their title!
